COURSE: Ice Rescue Technician
Course Description: The Lifesaving Resources Ice Rescue Technician (IRT) Course is an internationally-standardized program that meets/exceeds NFPA 1670 Standard for Technical Rescue, and can be customized to meet the needs of the local First Responder organizations. The focus of this program is on surface rescue for cold water and ice incidents with an emphasis on personal survival and safety of the rescuer. It is designed to provide the public safety and rescue professional with the knowledge and skills necessary for safe rescue and recovery operations in, on and around ice and cold water.

Prerequisites which are required prior to the first day of class:
· Swiftwater Awareness - only a PA WRER or Rescue 3 awareness level course will be accepted.
Required Equipment: A U.S. Coast Guard approved (type V) personal flotation device (PFD), water rescue helmet, gloves, shoes, throw bag, dry suit, or ice rescue suit.
DATES: Classroom - December 7th at 1800hrs
Practical evolutions TBD based on ice conditions
