Course Description: First responders and HAZMAT teams are responding more often to a new threat: chemical suicide.  Chemical suicide is on the rise throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia.   Our Regional VDEM Hazardous Materials Officer, Joe Taylor, will give an overview of what we should be looking for as First Responders, how to deal with this type of incident, and who should be contacted in the event of this type of emergency.   Mr. Taylor will also be discussing the many different types of suicides where individuals create a hazardous material incident with products such as mercury.  We look forward to seeing you at this two hour awareness course.
