COURSE: Fire Academy #2018-30

Course Description: The Fire Academy delivers the Commonwealth of Virginia certified Firefighter Level I and Level II, Hazardous Materials Operations.  Firefighter II – (03/04/2019) A course designed for the Firefighter I who is prepared to assume more of a leadership role in a department. Course consists primarily of classes designed to give the student more knowledge of fire ground situations so that he or she can make basic evaluations of safety problems and assume leadership roles in carrying out interior attack and search operations. 

Prerequisites: Students must be at least 16 years of age in order to complete all aspects of the course. Junior Firefighters must comply with all Junior Firefighters pre-requisites as defined by Department of Labor and Industry standards.

Equipment Required: Full turnout gear including SCBA.

DATES:  First Class is March 4, 2019

TIMES: 1830 – 2230 on Mon. & Wed.

EVERY OTHER Sat. 0900-1700  (First Saturday is 3/16/2019)

LOCATION: Training Center, Basement of EMS 1

NOTE:  To be issued a certificate the student must have a current CPR card and ICS 100/200/700.
