WHEN:                      Saturday October 23 and Sunday October 24, 2010. Class will start both days at 0800.

WHAT:                        VDFP Vehicle Rescue Awareness/ Operations 16 hour course

WHO:                         VDFP Adjunct Instructors

 A course designed for Fire and Rescue personnel with basic and intermediate experience in vehicle rescue. Classroom and practical evolutions will alert students to new hazards associated with today’s vehicles. Time will be spent on how the laws of physics affect the vehicle and its passengers and the outcome this has on tactical considerations. Emphasis is placed on the development of safe and proficient techniques for vehicle stabilization and lifting, and in the use of air bags and hydraulic systems.

 

Prerequisites: It is recommended that the student have experience in the theory and

use of basic hand tools. Student must be minimum 18 years of age.

 

Equip. Required: Full turnout gear, secondary eye protection

 

Standard/Reg: NFPA 1006, NFPA 1670

 

Class size is limited to 30 students, so please register early.  There is no cost for books or registration.
